Shenk Scholarship Students and Teachers in Recital

First United Methodist Church, 64 West Chocolate Avenue, Hershey; Shawn Gingrich, Host

 

The Shenk Scholarship for organ lessons was established in August of 2001 with a generous gift given to the

Harrisburg Chapter by Chapter Member Melvin Shenk in memory of his mother Violette I. Shenk.

The seven students who received the scholarship this year were: Miriam Dilts, Layton Graves, Christina Mitchell

Hannah O'Donnell, Sarah O'Donnell, Adrian Paskey and Daniel Rothermel. The teachers from the Harrisburg Chapter

of the American Guild of Organists were Victor Fields, Josephine Freund, Richard Frey, and Shelly Moorman Stahlman

The public was invited to attend. A free-will offering was received bringing in $352 to benefit future scholarships.

A Quartet of Riches!

Potluck Supper followed by panel presentation

"Tips from Great Teachers"

Panelists were Ellen Hunt, Shirley King, Robert Lau, and Ralph Kneeream

 

Mt. Calvary Episcopal Church, 125 North 25th Street, Camp Hill; Robert Lau, Host

 

A Music Sale of Scores donated by chapter members, gained $135 in proceeds going to the Chapter Operating Budget. 

 

     5:30 pm The music sale will began and it continued throughout the evening.  

 6:00 pm A Gathering time                                         

     6:30 A Fellowship Buffet Supper - country baked ham with rum raisin or pineapple

sauce from the kitchen of Karen Appel. Pot luck dishes from

Chapter Members. Wine available.

     7:30 "Tips from Great Teachers"                                     

 

Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 9:30 AM

"Duet" (music for organ duet and piano and organ duet)

The day will began at Christ Lutheran Church, 125 East High Street, Elizabethtown, Deb Dillane, Host,

from 9:30 to 10:15. Then all will progressed to

Christ United Church of Christ; 247 South Market Street, Elizabethtown

where light refreshments were served and more music heard 11:00 to 11:45.

Coffee and Pastry Social Time begins at 9:00.

At 9:30 the group will be divided with half going to Founders Hall and half remaining at First UMC.

Groups will switch locations at 10:30.

behest of the program committee.

A list of those attending must be submitted to the Security Office.

REQUIRED for Admission to the Post:  Photo ID, such as a PA Driver’s License and

Your VEHICLE must be free of such things as Aerosol Containers, firearms, anything of a suspicious nature;  otherwise the vehicle will not be allowed on Post.
