This event will include a performance of Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb
sung by the Chamber Choir of Pine Street Church, Thomas Clark-Jones, organist-director.
Also in the workshop, three new hymns by Dr. Troeger with copies to take home

Mendelssohn 200th Birthday Celebration Concert
Sacred music for organ, choir and voice.
“ORGANISTS’ GUILD CELEBRATES MENDELSSOHN’S 200TH BIRTHDAY”
On Tuesday evening, February 3, at 7:30 p.m., the Harrisburg Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) will mark the 200th birthday of
Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847) with a musical celebration including some of his most famous organ and choral works.
St. Patrick Cathedral, 212 State Street, Harrisburg, will host this event with its Cathedral Choir performing three excerpts from the oratorio “St. Paul”,
led by Nicholas Basehore, director of liturgical music at the host church. The Cathedral Choir will also sing
“There Shall A Star from Jacob Come Forth” from Mendelssohn’s unfinished oratorio, “Christus”.
A small ensemble from the Chancel Choir of Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, directed by Timothy Koch, will sing the choral work
“Hear My Prayer”, with Nancy Martin, soloist. Donald Golden, organist, will accompany this work, composed in 1844.
Eric Riley, director of music at Market Square Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg, will play Mendelssohn’s “Organ Sonata No. 1 in F minor”,
and Arnold H. Sten, director of music at Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg, will play “Organ Sonata No. 3 in A Major”.
The public is cordially invited to attend. There will be no admission charge, but donations will be accepted.

Hymn Festival with Michael Burkhardt
Now is the time to register your choir or individual singers for the Festival.
Dr. Burkhardt has chosen "O Day Full of Grace" as the theme which allows for a walk through the church year using hymns from a
variety of traditions (including newer global pieces as well as music from the Taizé community) to highlight "days of grace."
The concert will feature a brass ensemble lead by Dr. Bill Stowman of Messiah College, Trinity's Adult Bell Choir, timpani and percussion.
Trinity's chancel area can only accommodate about 100 singers - so register now! First come, first served.
The rehearsal will be Saturday, March 21 at 10:00am.
